Position Number & Title: 01J- Content Producer
Number of current open position(s): 0
Number of auxiliary position opening(s): 1
Position allows ongoing opportunities: Yes
Estimated amount of work: Must be available for a minimum of one episode per month
Level of recommended experience: Moderate/Some
Responsibilities and basic key skills/qualifications:

  • Under the supervision of the music director, the content producer will create chart listings for various types of episodes, derived from official music charts
  • Provides content onto each episode for the podcast such as news and information about the songs and/or themes featured
  • Collaborates with internal staff members for the production of an episode such as the host and audio editor
  • Reports all duties to the lead content producer, music director and general manager
  • Conduct quality assurance on episodes to ensure maximal accuracy
  • Support and/or recommend a decision made by the music director on music submissions on the podcast
  • Able to demonstrate high proficiency in the English language in all areas of communication; basic comprehension of Japanese is an asset but not required
  • Must have some availability during the weekends and holidays
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Position Number & Title: 02J- Audio Producer/Content Distributor

Estimated amount of work: Must be available for a minimum of one episode per month
Level of recommended experience: Moderate/Some
Responsibilities and basic key skills/qualifications:

  • Edits and creates each episode that they are assigned to, through organizing and mixing audio files together
  • Listens to the audio recordings made by the host and ensures they are free of errors
  • Stipulates the formatting of an episode under the direction of the program director and lead audio editor
  • Reports all duties to lead audio editor and general manager
  • Distributes episodes onto various hosting providers and social media platforms
  • Updates the website following the release of an episode
  • Able to demonstrate basic audio and/or video editing skills, utilizing any well-known software
  • Must be able to communicate in basic English, knowledge of Japanese is an asset but not required
  • Must have some availability during the weekends, holidays and on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Estimated amount of work: Must be available for a minimum of one episode per month
Level of recommended experience: Low/Not much
Responsibilities and basic key skills/qualifications:

  • Records their own voice to deliver insightful information in an entertaining and educational format
  • Must be able to supplement the audio editing process through the organization and mixing of audio files together during certain periods
  • Gathers all music files from provided resources
  • Follows the information created by the content producer along with providing original commentary that is entertaining and educational
  • Collaborates with sales manager to create an audio advertisement for potential advertisers
  • Some experience with audio and/or video editing is an asset, but not required
  • Must have solid English comprehension skills including a clear voice tonality
  • Experience with rudimentary spoken Japanese is highly recommended with an emphasize on proper pronunciation
  • Must have some availability during the weekends, holidays and some weekdays
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Responsibilities and basic key skills/qualifications:

  • Translates various content from English to Japanese
  • Records on-air announcements in Japanese with instructions provided from other organizational leads
  • Supports translating Japanese websites for the content producer in the creation of an episode
  • Collaborates with the sales manager and third party advertisers to deliver their message in Japanese
  • Respond and reply to listener emails or messages written in Japanese through the collaboration with organizational leads
  • Must have intermediate comprehension skills with the English and Japanese language with an emphasis on reading, writing and oral communication
  • Conduct quality assurance on episodes to ensure maximal accuracy
  • Previous experience in communications and/or translating work is an asset, but not necessary
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Responsibilities and basic key skills/qualifications:

  • Engages with third party companies or individuals in collaboration for the development of advertising partnerships
  • Manages the entire Japan Top 10’s Patreon donor program including (but not limited to) sending the gifts for all donors, modifying benefits in different tiers, analyzing data from Patreon donors, setting up events to promote the program, engaging with current and future potential Patreon donors (to exceed their satisfaction and expectations) and various other operations that will ensure the continued success of the program
  • Has a thorough understanding of the organization’s mission, values and vision along with the operational functions of the organization
  • Proactively reaches out to third party companies through the marketing of the organization’s core mission, values and vision
  • Analyzes statistical information provided and current market trends to establish advertising rates for the organization
  • Analyzes the yearly budget and fiscal performance of the organization with the management and board of directors and sets out plans for achieving financial performance goals
  • Promotes donation drives for the organization through the development of fundraising events
  • Collaborates with all members of the organization to meet the necessary requirements from established contracts and projects
  • Provides input towards determining the optimal use of the organization’s funds
  • Gathers innovative approaches to ensure financial efficiencies within the organization
  • Understanding of the legal obligations set out by Corporations Canada for non-profit organizations and ensures compliance with all financial transactions made
  • Reports back all duties to the organizational leads and board of directors
  • Previous experience working in sales/marketing is an asset, though not required
  • Must have basic comprehension skills with the English language; knowledge of the Korean and/or Japanese language is an asset, though not required
